In the privileged Uco Valley surrounded by the Andes Mountain you will find Estancia Los Chulengos. The ranch is an untouched natural beauty located only one and a half hours from the city of Mendoza.
Los Chulengos is a magically unique place, ideal for those who want to relax and rest, as well as the perfect place for the more adventurous. Here everyone can enjoy activities while being surrounded by grand valleys, magnificent peaks of the Andes and a beautiful winding river that meanders back and forth across the property.
We, the Palma family, have been opening our gates for the last twenty years to share this paradise with our guests, who take the front seat and call the shots in this unforgettable adventure.
When you return at sunset from your day of activities the house will be waiting for you. You can curl up on the comfy couch and enjoy the fire place while sipping on a glass of the best Argentine Malbec. Or feel free to open a book, play a game of cards, or simply relax with sound of running water coming up from the river.
One hundred years ago, the house where we host our guests served as a shelter for the livestock tender who cared for the cattle, young sheep and horses. The house is a whimsical place, with its original architecture intact and a special touch of gaucho chic decor; perfect for a warm, enjoyable stay.
ConsultThe most sublime moment of our day in the country is horseback riding. Our majestic and gentle horses carry you to the heart of the Andes Mountains, allowing you to drink in untouched nature and feel the essence of creation. When you’re on the back of a horse everything else just fades away. You are living in the moment, taking in the peaceful silence, the songs of the birds, the trickle of stream and the soft breeze on your face.
The most impressive lookout points are only accessible by horseback. If you’re lucky along the journey you may catch a glimpse of foxes(1), pumas(2), guanacos(3) or condors(4).

An unforgettable experience. We will venture into the mountains via horseback to see large masses of glacier ice. Something only possible thanks to the beauty of nature in the mountains.
For an additional cost, guided fly fishing can be arranged during your stay at the ranch, however we recommend pre-booking to ensure availability. At the ranch we practice catch and release trout fishing.
See ImagesHolding true to the history and roots of the ranch, our meals are prepared over a wood-fire, as this was the only natural fuel available.
All our recipes preserve our family traditions that today you can enjoy with the best selection of wines from Mendoza, Especially Malbec.
If you have special dietary restrictions, we ask that you contact the ranch in advance so that we may accommodate you to the best of our ability.

At the beginning of the last century, a humble shelter was built on the river bank, where the livestock tender spent his days looking after cows, sheep, goats and horses. As time passed this humbler shelter evolved to become the picturesque summer destination chosen by the Palma family. Nowadays the ranch opens its gates, to this unknown piece of the planet, to host guests and share an unforgettable adventure with them.
The name Los Chulengos comes from the name that is given to guanaco offspring, whom are native species to this area. Here, (pictured to the left) the former owner of the ranch recalls one of the most beautiful memories of his childhood; when he nursed the chulenguitos (baby guanacos) that had lost their mother.
This is why the ranch is called Los Chulengos, as a way to pay homage to our ancestors and the past.
It´s located 2230 meters above sea level, 1 hour 15 minutes approximately, by car, from the city of Mendoza, in the foothills of the Cerro del Plata.
